Glycolic Acid Products

Glycolic Acid Products Reviews

Glycolic acid products can be found anywhere good skin care regimes are sold. Glycolic acid is often added to products, such as cleansers, lotions, serums, elixirs, eye creams, toners, and face peels.  Glycolic acid is used in these products as an exfoliant, which will remove dead skin cells. Glycolic acid will be listed as an active ingredient in these products, and will also show the percentage most of the time. Many believe that anything under 10% does not offer the full benefit of glycolic acid, so look for glycolic acid products that contain at least 10%.

What is Glycolic Acid

Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid. It is natural and derived from sugar cane. Glycolic acid is more than likely the most commonly used alpha hydroxy acid, and is also considered to be one of the safest. Skin will not have to be scrubbed hard with these products, which can lead to damaged and scratched skin.

Benefits of using Glycolic Acid Products

There are many wonderful benefits to using products with glycolic acid. Not only will old skin cells be sloughed away, but fine lines will smooth themselves away. Pores will appear to be smaller with continued use, and less acne will form on the face. Scarring from acne will also diminish over time. The texture of the skin will improve, and hyper pigmentation will disappear. As an added benefit, since old skin cells are whisked away, your skin care regime will be able to work harder as it can penetrate the skin better. Glycolic acid products will be able to work themselves deep into the skin. They will actually penetrate down into the dermis, which is the deepest layer of the skin. This layer is where all the collagen is formed as well as the elastin and hyaluronic acid (which is your skin’s natural water binding agent). Glycolic acid products will plump the skin, which will diminish the fine wrinkles and lines that could ultimately form.

There are many wonderful glycolic acid products that are available for purchase. Consider any of the following to add to your skin care line up to reveal fresher, younger looking skin:

I love what glycolic acid does for my face. I have been a user of it for a few years now. I love Avon and their products and have bought at least 4 of the Anew Clinical Retexturizing Peels. They are easy for me to use. Just take a pad out of the container and run across my face and then switch sides and do it again. My face has really seen a huge improvement so far. My lines and wrinkles that were fine seem to be finer to me now. And the clarity of my skin is unreal. Even my brother, who never notices anything, asked me the other day if I had some work done because my skin was looking a lot younger.

One of my all time favorite products with glycolic acid in it is Derma E Refining Pore mask with vitamin A and Glycolic acid. I use it a few times a week after cleansing my face. You just apply and wait for it to dry. A mini facial if you will. My skin feels soft and smooth after rinsing it off with warm water. Plus it is gentle on my face. I do feel that the exfoliation process has made my pores smaller. I used to cringe when I would look in the mirror but now I can tell that my pores are not as large as they once were. There is also a toner in this line that I have not tried yet but would love to. Anyone else us in on here that can tell me what they think about it?

I have used a glycolic acid peel before. I am in my late 30s and do have some acne, but it is not too bad. I got the peel to do just as a preventative measure to aging. Well, I used it a few times and it made my skin red and look really bad. Acne also started to pop up more. Do you think that it was too harsh for me or that I was allergic to something in it? Or have others had issues with their skin doing this? I really wanted it to reveal fresher looking skin, but I can not afford to walk around with more acne then I have now and do not want a red face.

You have listed Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-wrinkle Anti-blemish Cleanser on here, and I have never tried that. But Neutrogena also makes a 2 in 1 fight & fade gel rapid clear. I love this gel because it fights my acne but also helps fade the look of post acne marks with glycolic acid. Plus it is reasonably priced and does the job that the packaging says it will do. I get mine from my local pharmacy and while the tube is small, it lasts a long time because you do not need tons to get the job done.

Why have I never heard of glycolic acid before? I have huge pores. I have tried so many different cleansers and lotions promising to make my pores look smaller. But none of them have ever worked before. I want something that I can get at my local pharmacy or shopping center. Plus I do not want to pay tons for it. I see there are some good choices listed above. I have used Neutrogena products before so I might try the Healthy skin cleanser. Hopefully, I will see some good results with it. My fingers are crossed!
